Fournier's gangrene in Crohn's disease: a case report

ABSTRACT
We present the case of a 66 years old obese male patient with chronic hypertension, Crohn´s disease and type 2 diabetes with non-compliance
to treatment. He presents to the emergency department with a localized swelling in the perianal region of 10 days, which evolved
with purulent secretion and fever. Broad-spectrum antibiotics were initiated as well as early debridation of necrotic tissue and support with
total parenteral nutrition. The patient was discharged after 64 days of hospital stay with mesalamine 2 gr daily and azathioprine 50 mg daily.
