ABSTRACT
The cystic adenoid carcinoma is a malignant neoplasia which generally raises in the salivary glands major and minor ones. When it is located in minor generally it is done in the palate. The larynx location is extremely odd. Its frequency goes from 1 to 3% of the cystic adenoid carcinomas. This tumors have a tendency to show early perineural invasion, to also invade cartilage and relapse. It is here presented a case of a 55 years old woman who showed up at the General Hospital of Mexico with the disease in a six months evolution period having disphonia respiratory problem. When physical exploration was done it was detected an infraglotic laryngeal tumor partially occluding the glotic light. The patient died because exacerbation of the respiratory insufficiency. At necropsy the diagnosis of cystic adenoid carcinoma was confirmed having a tubular and trabecular pattern of infraglotic location invading laryngeal intrinsec muscles and it was classified as a T3 N0 M0 after the AJCC.
