ABSTRACT
Nutcracker syndrome is a rare cause of hematuria due to
compression of renal vein between the aorta and the superior
mesenteric artery. This phenomenon results in renal venous
hypertension and unilateral hematuria. We report a typical
case of nutcracker syndrome in a male 18 year old with a
characteristic clinical picture. The diagnosis was finally established
by constrated computed tomography studies. We
review the literature that explains this pathology.
