ABSTRACT
The toxoplasmosis is an infection caused by Toxoplasma gondii, is an obligate intracellular protozoa. The infection on
immunocompetent patients may be overlooked. However, on immunocompromised patients, especially those infected with
Human immudeficiency Virus (HIV), the most common presentation is encephalitis, being the main cause of brain lesions in
this population of patients.
