ABSTRACT

Endometriosis is a disease that affects 4-15% of women of childbearing age. It consists in the occurrence of endometrial tissue, glands or stroma outside the uterine cavity. The endometrium is usually functional. Its location is the most common pelvic genital tract involvement. However, in 1% of cases affects the urinary tract and in 84% of these bladder. The pathogenesis of this entity is not entirely clear, there are several theories that attempt to explain its origin. Clinically bladder endometriosis presents with suprapubic pain and irritative voiding symptoms. The article presents the case of a patient with bladder endometriosis and describes etiology, pathogenesis, clinical diagnosis and therapy.
