ABSTRACT

The first summary of this section of continuous medical education gets back to the subject of the circumcision; it will always be a polemic discussion the indication of this type of surgery, and so us who treat children should agree that as a routinary method is not to be advised except, of course, in the religious field as Dr. Espinosa comments. Another interesting subject because of the controversial clinical uses in the management of children showing esophageal-gastroduodenal reflux is the use of cisapride. We would recommend the convenience to know the natural history of the disease and the actual indications of this medication, because we think that there is an abuse in the use of this drug. Among the polypharmacie that children receive, be as automedication or medical recommendation, it is found, in one of the first places, the antibiotics with which bacterial resistances has been created.
