Surgery on the pelvic floor and its impact on sexuality

ABSTRACT
Sexual dysfunctions are detrimental to women quality of life, and pelvic floor disorders play an important role. In this literature review, we aim to define how far and what solutions or proposals should be undertaken by gynecologists, not only with surgical optics, but especially in the field of prevention. It was conducted a review of articles published on the subject in various databases (Medline, PubMed, Hinari, Cochrane). These articles are closely related to gynecologists worldwide by increasing demands regarding quality of life and sexuality enjoyment even in the elderly. It is discussed here, preventive possibilities within our reach and recommendations are provided based on the review and the expertise of the authors.
