ABSTRACT
The first aim of this paper was to analyze a psychotherapeutic intervention that combines the brief solution focused therapy and the cognitive behavioral therapy. Through a hybrid method, it took place in two stages: the quantitative, who consisted on an ex post fact descriptive analysis of multiple cases; and the qualitative, who uses a focus group of selected therapists, to discuss about some topics related to the research. The results for this first objective, confirmed an unbalanced practice of this two models, leaving the cognitive behavioral model behind de other. The second aim consisted on making a comparison between the two models and notice about the similarities. Finally, the third aim consisted on a proposal that intends to equilibrate the application of these two models.
