ABSTRACT
Soft tissues leiomyosarcomas are found principally in the retroperitoneal space and the abdominal cavity, mediastinal leiomyosarcomas are very uncommon. Leiomyosarcomas appear in the seventh decade of life, metastases occur mainly in the lung and rarely in lymphatic nodes, however they have never been reported to be located in the skull or in the central nervous system. We report a case of a mediastinal leiomyosarcoma with skull metastases which was resected surgically at the Neurosurgery Service of the General Hospital of Mexico.
