ABSTRACT
This essay briefly reconstructs the history of Theory Social Psychology Area and Theory of Social Sciences, and the role played by the field of social science theory in the psychology’s currículum of the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Iztacala. Also described the ideological perspective that has guided the teaching task of the teachers who make up this academic area, and the epistemological assumptions that have underpinned the currículum materials that comprise them. It is a critique of the positivist and naturalist who reigned from the beginning in this school of psychology, one of three available to the National Autonomous University of Mexico and the role played by teachers who did not share this philosophy and never countered that more scientific perspectives of the social sciences themselves.
