ABSTRACT
The objective of this investigation was to identify the most common sexually transmitted infections in the female student population of the FES Iztacala, 500 papanicolaus of students between 17 and 28 years old registered in 6 health area careers (medicine, psychology, biology, optometry, nursing and dentistry) were analyzed. The papanicolaus were tested for: clamydiatrachomatis, Neisseria Gonorrhoeae, Candida albicans, Trichomonas vaginalis, Gardnerella vaginalis, bacilli and human papillomavirus. The results showed a high prevalence of sexually transmitted infections in the women of the sample. Whereby, it is highlighted the importance of the creation, diffusion and promotion of sexual health programs.
