Poland’s syndrome complicated with unilateral pulmonary acute edema

ABSTRACT
Objective: Report to case with rare congenital anomaly and unilateral pulmonary acute edema.
Introduction: Poland’s syndrome is a congenital anomaly often observed in adults due to medical advances whose allows a survival with a good quality of life.
Design: Case report.
Interventions: Assisted mechanical ventilation, invasive monitoring, use of inotropic drugs.
Patient: A 30-years-old woman with Poland’s syndrome was transferred to a ICU after surgery (cesarean operation) complicated with pulmonary edema and cardiorrespiratory arrest. Severe hypotension, pulmonary infiltrates an hypoxemia was observed at admission. She was resucited with using ventilatory support as well as dopamine, dobutamine and norepinephrine. On 17th ICU stay she was discharged to a conventional room.
