ABSTRACT
Objective: To establish bioethical considerations for an approach to the creation of public policies and human embryo research.
Setting: University Department of Bioethics. The work begins with basic definitions in order to understand the involved variables: it is defined what a public policy is and which is understood by a human embryo. Then a commentary is made about the history of the development of public policies in the developed countries, so the experience already existing is considered. Finally, under the considerations of Chaves, some recommendations are offered for the creation of public policies and human embryo research.
