Solitary pulmonary nodule in pediatrics: report of a case and review of the literature

ABSTRACT

Solitary pulmonary nodule (SPN) is a focal pulmonary, round or oval lesion. A CT scan is the diagnostic method of choice and thoracotomy has been considered the therapeutic standard for this type of injury.
We report the case of a child with a solitary pulmonary nodule, diagnosed as a myofibroblastic tumor (unusual location). Surgical resection was performed. He had a favorable outcome.
