ABSTRACT
Leptin is secreted by the fat tissue in order to establish the regulation of appetite at the brain site. Experimentally, it has been demonstrated that the absence of leptin synthesis or its cell receptor induces hyperfagia, obesity and diabetes. Clinical studies have been directed at the effect of leptin on obesity and diabetes.
