ABSTRACT
The use of topic nasal fluticasone propionate has been approved for the treatment of the rhinitis independently of its etiology; it has been also used for the treatment of the nose and paranasal poliposis with good security and tolerance for about than 10 years. One of the most complex entities to treat in otolaryngology is the nasal and paranasal poliposis because of the great incidence recurrency. The treatment includes the surgical portion in which a debulking is practiced in order to improve the quality of life, restore nasal ventilation and allows for topic medication at mass implant places. Medical treatment includes the use of antihistamines, topical and systemic steroids and lately the use of antileucotriens and altilinfocines which are in phase II of research. In spite of the wide experience of many ENT surgeons in the medical management (after endoscopic polipectomy) Mostapha in 1996 reported a high incidence of pansinusitis in patients using Fluticasone after surgery. This is a prospective, open, comparative, experimental and longitudinal study that contradicts the results reported by Mostapha.
