ABSTRACT
Background: Oocyte donation is an assisted reproduction technique in which female gamete is aported by a different woman to that will receive this or the resulting embryo.
Objective: To identify the variables defining the profile of good reponse in oocyte donors.
Material and methods: A retrospective, longitudinal, descriptive study was done of the first cycle of controlled ovarian hyperstimulation of 53 donors for IVF-TE from November 2004 to March 2010. The characteristics of donors who achieved pregnancy in their first cycle were analyzed (
n = 19).
Results: According to the group of nuligest or with previous pregnancy a significant difference was observed favoring donors with at least one term-pregnancy in the value of estradiol with hCG, number of mature follicles, total of captured and in metaphse II oocytes, without observing difference in the total dose of gonadotrophins nor in the basal hormonal profile.
Conclusions: Characteristics optimizing oocytes donations in a donor are a younger age than 25 years, a BMI lesser than 24.9 and tested fertility, thus, at the moment of selection of possible candidates for ovodonation these conditions should be looked for in order to obtain good rates of pregnancy and to use lower doses of gonadotrophin with the lesser probability of complications for the donor.
