ABSTRACT

Despite a clinical correlation observed among obesity, insulin resistance and infertility, the sequence of factors that intervene in its disclosure remains unknown. Hence we review the anatomical and biochemical elements of interaction that could be potentially involved in such association, particularly those related with the adipocyte, production of inflammatory cells and transcription factors that eventually may lead towards metabolic changes capable of interference upon human fertility.
