ABSTRACT
Primary tumors in the heart are rare, with an incidence smaller than 1% of all tumors of the body, and the myxoma is the most common type of them, they are located mainly in the left atrium. The case of a 57 years old woman is presented that enters to the emergency service for a transient ischemic attack manifested with left hemiparesis. Appearing an acute inferior wall myocardial infarction accompanied by several sudden events of acute pulmonary edema. In the physical finding there was the presence of a murmur mitral holosystolic accompanied by a first brilliant noise it stands out. Coronary arteriography did not show important lesions so much in the coronary right as well as the left and the flow of both it was TIMI III. The transthoracic echocardiogram demonstrated the presence of a mass in the left atrium which was occupied totally and that prolapsed to the left ventricle. This is ratifyed by a TAC of chest. The association of an acute myocardial infarction with a myxoma is an extremely rare disease and it is originated by a coronary embolism and obstruction to left ventricular outflow.
