Radial nerve injury as result of an automobile airbag deployment

ABSTRACT

A case is reported of a patient with multiple trauma as a consequence of the deployment of an airbag, after a low speed impact in an automobile. Amongst other lesions, she suffered traumatic paralysis of the radial nerve, as a consequence of the impact to the proximal third of the arm. Her evolution and nerve conduction studies performed are described and the international literature on the subject is revised.
