Cutaneous fibrous malignant histiocytoma

ABSTRACT

Malignant fibrous histiocytoma is the most common soft tissue sarcoma in adults and it usually localizes in the lower extremities and retroperitoneum. We present a 76-year-old white woman with a tumour in the left arm since one year ago. She had no history of radiation therapy and on physical examination there was a mass about 25 cm in diameter which infiltrated the skin. Regional lymph nodes were not palpable and the remainder of the physical examination was unremarkable. The diagnosis based on the incisional biopsy was malignant fibrous histiocytoma.
