ABSTRACT
Background: All teaching- learning process is characterized by a final stage, which is called examination, test or evaluation, as any process that aims at measuring the level of knowledge, fitness, given physical skills or abilities . Objective: To deepen into the forms and features that academic assessment has in South African universities to provide a better preparation to the teaching staff. Development: A number of assessment forms were elaborated in English with their Spanish equivalent, starting from shortcomings that were observed at the University of Medical Sciences in Sancti Spiritus. Also, the author's experience in a mission in that country was taken into account. The knowledge of these oral and written assessment forms provided teachers who had been serving in these schools with a better preparation to face the academic processes. Conclusions: Assessment as a final stage has different forms in South African universities, therefore the collaboration staff had at their disposal an effective tool for teaching practice, an exercise which has some denomination differences when compared with the Cuban system.REFERENCES
