ABSTRACT
Santiago Ramón y Cajal (1852-1934) was a Spanish scientist and physician, rewarded with the Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology in 1906 for his contributions to the knowledge of the nervous system structure. This year the scientific community celebrates one hundred and fifty years of his birth. The author emphazises his ethical legacy as a scientist, compromised with his country and the scientific education of the younger generations.REFERENCES
