ABSTRACT
Interdigital neuritis of the foot, or Morton’s neuroma is a frequent cause of metatarsalgia. The etiology is still-unknown and diagnosis is made according to the evaluation and physical examination. It is more frequent in young woman and the third interdigital space is more affected. We made a retrospective study at the ABC Hospital in Mexico City, from 1974 to the year 2000. 24 patients were studied with injuries in 32 feet. The age average was 47.8 years and the right foot was the most commonly affected. Surgical excision was performed in all patients trough a dorsal approach obtaining good results in all cases. We have a follow-up period of 2 to 26 years.
