Are statins useful in adults with normal serum levels of cholesterol? In this number, three writings are related to this topic. Arturo Zárate wrote about Akira Endo, who discovered the statins. Olga Ayde Rueda investigated the prevalence of cholesterol phenotype in a suburban population. The hypoalphalipoproteinemia and mix dyslipidemias were the prevalent phenotypes. Olga Brito Zurita investigated the relation between hypertension and visceral fat in an urban population with high prevalence of dyslipidemias. We closed this presentation with a commentary about the Jupiter study.
