ABSTRACT
This article provides an evidencebased review of the alloplastic TMJ reconstruction literature to help determine which management modalities are most appropriate for managing severe TMJ conditions and achieving the goals. Several autogenous tissues have been used to reconstruct the TMJ to regain facial form and mandibular function in patients who have developmental abnormalities, postneoplastic/posttraumatic discontinuity defects, arthritic conditions, and ankylosis, However Alloplastic stock TMJ prostheses results to be apropied with excellent results and very cost effective.
