ABSTRACT
Urinary incontinence is the involuntary loss of urine which can objectively be demonstrated and that produces a social, medical and hygienic problem to the person who suffers it. This occurs more frequently in females because some of the risk factors are parity, vaginal delivery, use of forceps and obesity, among others. These kinds of situations weaken the pelvic floor muscles and cause the incontinence. Urinary incontinence can be categorized into three large groups: urinary incontinence produce by effort, this is the most frequent to occur in women who make an effort E.g.: cough. Urinary urge incontinence, it is the reference of an involuntary loss accompanied by urinary urgency or preceded immediately by this. And the mixed that brings together the two previous ones. The diagnosis should be based on the clinic history; the treatment is carried out in a staggered way taking into account the situation riskbenefit to patients.
