ABSTRACT
There are various procedures described for the treatment of the congenital blepharoptosis. The technique that is proposed consists of employing an orbicular muscular flap in its preseptal portion split into three segments, maintaining its viability and which is fixed to the frontal muscle. In this way a significant elevation of the upper eyelid can be obtained in cases of congenital blepharoptosis without the function of the elevator muscle. Five patients were operated on with this technique suffering congenital blepharoptosis with isolated confirmed distrophia of the elevator muscle, unilateral or bilateral affecting the contraction and relaxation of the muscular fibers, with good postoperative results.
