ABSTRACT
The development of salivary fistulae after laryngectomies in patients after radiotherapy is a frequent problem, complicating recovery and could be life threatening when the great vessels of the neck are involved. A case is reported in which a simple surgery is performed, needing no special skills, equipment or instruments, which recreates the upper digestive tract in the neck in cases of partial loss. This procedure also permits the substitution of the damaged soft tissues of this region with healthy, well vascularized and strong, but soft and elastic covering of the vessels and nerves of the neck. This operative technique could be easily repeated by any surgeon with experience in neck and myocutaneous flap surgery.
