ABSTRACT
A technique to remodel the gluteus especially in absence of the infragluteal plait without using implants is proposed, by means of two skin strips with inferior wide pedicle, taken from the upper internal areas of both thighs, which are deepithelialized and which go through subcutaneous tunnels below the infragluteal ligaments and fixed with tension in the anterosuperior iliac thorns. There is a method of lifting or pexia of the gluteus tissue but with the utilization of a supragluteal incision and taking the subjacent connective tissue as a kind of fascia described by Lockwood; but we avoided the use of visible incisions. Even though this case is unique, and its statistic value is insufficient, its study throughout a year is interesting. The results are surprisingly satisfactory for the patient as well as for the surgeon since a new infragluteus route is formed and besides the physiological raising of both gluteus while avoiding the presence of foreign bodies it permits. Furthermore, the fat extirpated as a graft in the superior hemisphere of the gluteus make the effect even more. As complications the possibility of umbilication at pedicle level, that can be corrected simultaneously, and the appearance of dermoid cysts due to improper deepithelialization were found.REFERENCES
