ABSTRACT
Our objective was to develop clinical guidelines based on the best clinical evidence to help the medical staff of all levels (first, second and third medical attention levels) to provide evidence-based medicine and the management of regional anesthesia in patients receiving anticoagulation and thromboprophylaxis. The guidelines were built using structured and relevant clinical questions. We established a standardized sequence to search for clinical practice guidelines from questions on regional anesthesia treatment in patients receiving anticoagulation and thromboprophylaxis in children and adults. It was used as base document the clinical practice guideline based on evidence for patient treatment receiving anticoagulation and thromboprophylaxis published in 2009.The working group selected 37 publications. For aspects not considered in the reference guides, structured researches using PubMed, Medical Disability Advisor and Cochrane Library publish were done. The results were expressed according as level of evidence and grade of recommendation according to the characteristics and type of study design. A priority is to properly manage the patient requires a procedure for receiving regional anesthesia and coagulation-modifying drugs. The specialist should know the evidence-based recommendations for the proper management of these patients.
