Nasal tip plasty in toddlers with bilateral cleft lip

ABSTRACT

Thirty patients from the Hospital Central Sur de Alta Especialidad de Petróleos Mexicanos, with nasal deformity due to bilateral cleft lip, were analyzed after undergoing an open rhynoplasty technique. Two auricular cartilage grafts were placed in the nasal tip and V-Y advance flap to elongate the columella, with 1 – 14 years follow up. Results were satisfactory, in relation to the columella’s length, size and shape of the nostrils and the final scar. No alterations in the growth of the nose were present.
