Adverse reactions caused by non-steroidal antinflammatory drugs

ABSTRACT
A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in the family physician´s office No. 28 attached to "Dr Mario Muñoz Monroy" university teaching polyclinics from June 1st to December 31st 2008. The objective was to detect the most common adverse reactions caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The universe of study was made up of 105 patients who attended the physician´s office during the study and from this number, a sample of 60 patients was selected. They were administered a questionnaire including analysis variables. The females aged 31-59 years consumed more antinflammatory drugs. The most reported adverse reactions were epigastralgia and blood hypertension; besides, self-medication was confirmed.REFERENCES
