ABSTRACT
Female genital tract vasculitis is an extremely rare clinical and pathologic condition with no more than 50 cases reported in the literature. Its diagnosis is generally arrived at by accident, and only on a few occasions does the disease have systemic repercussions. However, clinical pictures during the gravidopuerperal period have not been previously reported and clinical presentation can condition episodes of severe acute hemorrhage. We present the case of a patient who required emergency abdominal hysterectomy in late puerperium and intensive care for hypovolemic shock and disseminated intravascular coagulation, which the patient developed secondarily.
