ABSTRACT
We present a case report on a transcervical gunshot wound on a midline trajectory without clinical and imagenological evidence of injury. It is well known that transcervical injuries are potentially lethal or devastating, constituing a factor of mortality in the three peaks of mortality in trauma. By the way, this kind of injury makes controversial discussion in the surgical group concerning when surgical exploration or selective study of patients with non-operative management is mandatory.
However, this kind of transcervical gunshot wound always makes the trauma surgeon to doubt which to choose. There is no case report in the literature on midline transcervical gunshot wounds without evident injury with this objective, we present this case.
