ABSTRACT
Papillary thyroid cancer has an incidence of 80-90% in all neoplasm of thyroid. The metastatic activity is low, but when this occurs the nodules, lungs and bones are the often sites of invasion. It usually grows slowly and is clinically indolent, and it can manifest as a cold nodule in gammagraphy and an insignificant clinical manifestation as a nodule or another organic dysfunction can make a silent primary tumor. We present a case report of a 44-year male old who during 14 months presented pain in left sternoclavicular articulation, with a fast growing of a tumor in the same location, affecting the mobilization of his left arm and stopping the work activity. He was studied and the tumor was removed. It corresponded to a papillary thyroid metastasis in the left clavicle. When the patient was explored there were not alterations in the thyroid gland, but when thyroidectomy was performed the pathology result showed a 0.9 centimeters papillary cancer nodule.
