ABSTRACT
The case report of an apparently healthy 43 year-old patient is described, who went to the emergency department of "Dr. Joaquín Castillo Duany" Teaching Clinical Surgical Hospital due to sudden, severe and ripping oppressive thoracic pain irradiating toward the upper abdominal region while he was making a physical effort of moderate intensity. Complementary tests confirmed the diagnosis of thoracoabdominal acute aortic dissection, reason why he underwent surgery at the Cardiology Center of this city, where he made good progress and was discharged without complications.REFERENCES
