ABSTRACT
The objective of the study was comparing the grade of apical leakage between the cold lateral condensation technique, and warm vertical condensation. 55 extracted human molars and premolars were divided in three groups: Group 1; Crown-Down Instrumented to be filled with the cold lateral condensation technique, Group 2; Crown-Down Instrumented to be filled with warm vertical technique; Group 3; was used for control. Both groups (1, 2) were submerged in a teasing solution, inside a essay tube that was connected to a vacuum pump, after that the dental pieces were cutted longitudinal. The roots were observed in a photo microscope with a 5X. The result showed mayor differences in the apical leakage between both techniques. The warm vertitacl condensation presented minor apical leakage than the cold lateral condensation technique; so we conclude that the warm vertical condensation technique produces a better apical seal.
