Ophthalmological morbidity in school for blind and visually impaired children from Ciego de Avila

ABSTRACT
An observational-descriptive study was carried out, it was reviewed medical records of children enrolled in school for blind and visually impaired children in Ciego de Ávila in March 2010.The sample consisted of 84 children. Variables were studied such as age, sex, ophthalmological diagnosis, if they have low vision criteria and type of treatment received. The greatest number of patients was male, 10 years is the most represented age, myopia is the most commonly diagnosed ophthalmopathy, most of them do not meet the criteria of low vision and the majority of patients receive optical treatment.REFERENCES
