Cervical intramedullary schwannoma

ABSTRACT

The intramedullar schwannomas are in frequently occurring tumors with predominance at the cervical level. They are characterized clinically by motor and sensitive alterations. Magnetic resonance imaging with gadolinium is the study of choice for the diagnosis, although and computed tomography (CT) can also the used angiography. The treament must be surgical and radiotheraphy is used in case of residual tumor.
