Pericarditis: un reto diagnóstico

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this case consists on diagnose and treatment difficulties. The case is about a 67 years old male that came because of cough, yellowish expectoration, progressive dyspnea, lower limb edema and weight loss of 7 kilos in three months, without fever. During physical exam he was without fever, cachexic, jugular venous distension grade I, no palpable cervical lymph nodes; Heart with regular rate and rhythm, and no rubs; Lungs with right basal crackles; Normal pulses. Past medical history of right forearm skin infection, secondary to an intravenous canalization. Multiples laboratory and imaging tests were done.
Evolution: with the diagnosis of chronic pericarditis, he went to surgery, and during the postoperative the patient died suddenly.
Discussion: after a formal study, pericarditis was demonstrated. The treatment was medical and surgical.
