ABSTRACT
Tako Tsubo syndrome was described for the first time in 1990 by Sato, et al. It is characterized by left ventricle’s apex hipokinesia or akinesia, echocardiography shows a typical image, described as the contour of a traditional Japanese pot, used to catch octopii, called «takotsubo». Pacients in both clinical cases show present a typical clinical picture, showing three of the four Mayo’s modified criteria, proposed and accepted for diagnosis of the syndrome in 2008, characterized by transitory hipokinesia of middle and apical segments of left ventricle, normal coronaries in a cardiac cathetherization, with a quick recovery and good prognosis. It’s incidence in Latin America is unknown, as it was originally described in Japan; there is only one case reported in Mexico, in year 2004 for J. Gaspar, however, the two cases here in presented happened in less than a year, which makes us suspect this pathology is more frequent than expected in our setting, and that it is probably under-diagnosed because of it’s similarity with the acute isquemic coronary syndrome.
