ABSTRACT
The association of diplopodia and tibial hemimelia is uncommon. We report the case of a young girl, 5.2 years old with diagnosis of congenital bilateral diplopodia associated to bilateral tibial hemimelia. She was underwent to surgical amputation of the supernumerary structures followed by posteromedial release in a single step in the right foot; seven months later, in a single step too, the same procedures was performed in the left foot. This treatment offered results that we have considered satisfactory; since they have modified in a substantial way the image of the patient; allowing her return to activities without any restrictions, making a plantigrade and bipedal gait and used a normal footwear and with the satisfaction of the parents. The functional and aesthetic results are presented after the surgical management of the bilateral diplopodiaREFERENCES
