ABSTRACT
The importance of the gastrointestinal bleeding rises every day in our emergency departments. The diagnostic methods grow and develop faster than therapeutic methods. The approach to gastrointestinal bleeding depends on the site and de intensity of bleeding. The Treitz ligament defines the limits on upper and lower gastrointestinal bleeding. Early resuscitation and treatment are essential to a good outcome in these patients.
