ABSTRACT
The diabetes mellitus is a main cause of chronic renal failure, the microproteinuria as an early and sensitive marker to the risk of future development of overt nephropathy and chronic renal failure. The microproteinuria control decrease the heart risk factor because it is a predictor of microangiopathic complications. Angiotensina II receptor antagonist (AIIAs) should be considered mandatory therapy in patients with diabetic nephropathy and should complement existing management strategies, such as reduced dietary protein intake, strict blood glucose control, and standard antihypertensive therapy.
