Osteotomía cuneiforme valguizante en el tratamiento del codo varo

ABSTRACT

The results of 98 cases of patients with cubitus varus were analyzed from January 1997 to January 2007, who had had supracondylar cuneiform osteotomy of the humerus, etiology were 82% from supracondylar humerus fracture and 18% lateral condyle fracture, with a incidence of a 3,3% of cubitus varus on elbow fractures on that decade. , with an average age of 7,5 years old, and 1 year follow up, 60% male, 40% female. We compare with Bauman angle and humero ulnar angle our results. According to our grading system 88% of the patients were satisfied. We had complications like 12% of residual varus, 3% stiffness, 4% sepsis, 2% residual valgus after the procedure was done. We demonstrated 69% complications when we put flexed cast post-surgery versus 12,9% of complications when the cast was in extension type, we compare our study with other world statistics.
