ABSTRACT
Heparin-induced trombocitopenia (HIT) is produced most of the times after exposition to unfractionated heparin, even tough, it could appear with low-molecular-weight heparin. An important percentage accompanies with thrombotic phenomena that could be life-threatening if treatment is not adequate. It is much more freccuent in surgical patients than medical. Its cause is an antibody against complexes of platelet factor 4 and heparin.
