ABSTRACT
Non-Convulsive Status Epilepticus (NCSE) is a form of Status Epilepticus which possesses diverse clinical manifestations; these are based principally in alteration in behavior and/or state of consciousness and electroencephalographic alterations which lack tonic, clonic or tonic-clonic motor manifestations. Predominantly it is divided in Absence Status Epilepticus and Partial Complex Status Epilepticus. The making of an EEG is necessary to establish an adequate diagnosis. The diagnosis of the event is based in the clinical correlation and the existence of alterations in the EEG that show epileptiform activity. The treatment of NCSE is based principally in the use of benzodiacepines and valproic acid.
