ABSTRACT
Sarcoidosis is, in generally, a benign multisystemic disease of unknown etiology and chronic course. Major organs involved are the lungs, eyes and skin. Skin manifestations occur in 25% of patients. Hypodermic sarcoidosis, also called subcutaneous sarcoidosis, is a specific cutaneous manifestation of this disease. Multiple publications increasingly propose the existence of a frequent association between this expression and the existence of systemic disease, considering it as a guiding diagnosis.
In this paper we present three patients with hypodermic sarcoidosis who were diagnosed of systemic sarcoidosis due to their cutaneous involvement. We propose to review these results in order to establish whether this association exists or is coincidental.
