ABSTRACT
Lymphomas are the thirds most common group of cancers in children and adolescents in the United States. Non-Hodgkin lymphomas represent approximately 60 percent of these diagnoses. Non-Hodgkin lymphomas are categorized as low, intermediate, or high grade on the basis of their clinical aggressiveness. Low and intermediated grade tumors predominate in adults, whereas more than 90 percent of children with non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas have high-grade tumors. This article describes an unusual case of adolescent with systolic murmur, respiratory symptoms and extrinsic aortic compression caused by mediastinal non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
